During the start, Fischella manages to overtake Räikkonen, but Räikkonen gets back the lead in the first lap. Soon afterwards Alonso passes Fisichella, behind them follows Montoya.
The Renaults have to pit a few laps earlier than the McLarens, so Montoya is able to get second position.
This order remains the same for almost the whole race. 3 laps before race-end, Montoya loses because of a collision during overlapping his second place to Alonso. Räikkonen wins in front of Alonso, Montoya and Fisichella.
